Gasworks

Gasworks Bar and Restaurant is named after (you guessed it!) the gasworks that once supplied gas to the Wellington suburbs from Miramar to as far as Khandallah and Ngaio. The gasworks operated from the early 20s right through to the post WWII years.

In 2012, the Gasworks Bar and Restaurant opened serving generous-sized meals and 15 tap beers and ciders including Wellington crafty favourites and a regularly changing American top tap.

Start your meal with tasty flatbread, beef rib sliders or fresh fish tacos before tucking into a mouth-watering main course dish. There’s braised lamb shoulder with kumara mash and sautéed kale, grilled salmon with sweetcorn and bacon salsa and prime steer sirloin steak. Love burgers? You’ll adore Gaswork’s range of veggie, beef and chicken burgers.

Wash it all down with a craft beer, great cocktails or a home-made drink; or enjoy a ‘liquid dessert’ like an Irish coffee or a sumptuous chocolate martini. Playing classic rock music, this vibrant venue is great for small or large gatherings and can hold large functions.
