A beautiful Thai restaurant set up like a glamorous Georgian banquet, Keo's Tastes of Thailand is a unique and exciting destination in Christchurch CBD.

Put simply, it's not your run-of-the-mill Thai restaurant. Its gilded dining hall never fails to catch the eye of passers-by. After all, their floor-to-ceiling windows welcome the activity of Victoria Street whilst you live your best life in this royal setting. Cream upholstered chairs, towering pillars, shimmering chandeliers, spotless mirrors and gold finishing all contribute to Keo's decadent vision of luxury. And in the spirit of spectacle, their bar is adorned appropriately with glistening bottles, creating an irresistible sense of drama that has curious diners coming up for seconds.

And what's a royal banquet without some spellbinding plates? Straight from generations-old Thai recipe books come the refreshing Tom Yum and Tom Kah soups that ease you gently into the evening with warming flavours. You are in no danger of ruining your appetite before the main event where you'll find slow-cooked beef cheek Penang, traditional massaman curry with lashings of coconut milk, an aptly named 'Paradise Steak' marinated in oyster sauce and a whole range of stir-fried noodle dishes.

If it's seafood you're after, your tastebuds will swoon for the calamari chilli basil, seafood curry or daily steamed fish fillet. And for those who want to avoid meat altogether, the vegetable pad Thai, vegetarian Panang curry or vegetable stir fry celebrate the beauty of simple food cooked to perfection. For exquisite Thai food with all the luxurious trimmings, Keo's takes the crown every time.
