In the heart of Trentham, Quinn’s Post serves the kind of food that feels like a warm welcome. From 9 am daily, it turns out hearty classics and crowd-pleasers with a homely touch, the sort of plates that invite lingering conversations and second helpings. It is a local gathering place where breakfast rolls into lunch and dinner, and a traditional roast might tempt you to stay a little longer.

On the grill, a sirloin steak arrives with eggs and mushroom sauce, while a slow-cooked lamb shank brings that comforting, fall-off-the-bone satisfaction. Burgers take a star turn, not least the mighty Quinn beef burger with its juicy patty and signature sauce, and there is honest, golden fish and chips, battered or crumbed to your liking. Craving spice? Butter chicken and a fragrant vegetarian curry come with rice and naan, all about mellow warmth and moreish richness rather than fireworks.

Mornings are well covered with a full all-day breakfast or a made-to-order omelette, and desserts lean indulgent: think chocolate brownie with berry coulis and ice cream, or sticky date pudding swirled with caramel. At the bar, expect Kiwi staples like Lion Brown alongside Guinness on tap, plus easy-drinking Kopiko Bay wines and a celebratory splash of Prosecco.

With warm hospitality, a homey atmosphere, and options for private dining and banquets, this is comfort done properly. Pull up a chair, bring your appetite, and make yourself at home - after all, there is no place like Quinn’s.
