dinner

The Bank Bar and Brasserie sits inside a striking inner-city heritage building, giving it plenty of character without feeling stuffy. The mix of a spacious brass bar, cosy fireplace, dark tones and warm lighting sets the scene perfectly, while the open courtyard is a go-to spot for laid-back outdoor dining.

The menu keeps things approachable but full of flavour, from classic seafood chowder to hearty plates of Southland lamb. Start off with tender pork belly baos with sharp ginger pickles, or try the creamy three-cheese arancini with their crisp golden crumb and gooey mozzarella centre. For mains, you can’t go wrong with a slow-braised lamb shank in rich red wine and rosemary or a chargrilled sirloin cooked just how you like it, finished with a perfectly fried egg.

Whether you’re in for dinner or just dropping by for a drink, The Bank’s bar has you covered with a great selection of wines, craft beers, spirits and plenty of non-alcoholic options. It’s a welcoming spot that’s as popular with locals as it is with visitors - relaxed, full of flavour, and always a good time.
