On Hamilton’s Hood Street, Markyle’s Coffee and Food is the sort of city gem locals whisper about.

A café with a generous heart, it champions homemade food and barista-made coffee, crafted with fresh ingredients and care, with a reputation for great steaks. The atmosphere hums with the easy rhythm of a city favourite, indoors or out.

Mornings begin with indulgence and comfort. Banoffee Pancakes feature chocolate buttermilk rounds glossed with caramel, crowned with vanilla mascarpone and slices of brûlée banana. Eggs benedict, poached to a wobble with bacon or smoked salmon and a proper pour of hollandaise, offers a classic start to the day.

By midday, the kitchen turns to comfort done right, from an open steak sandwich layering juicy beef, salad and a fried egg on toasted sourdough, to lighter touches for a steady, satisfying lunch.

Drinks complement the food with equal care. Hand-scooped milkshakes, creamy smoothies, and the steady hum of flat whites and mochas keep the café’s craft front and centre.

Markyle’s pairs natural ingredients with passionate craft and award-winning service. Settle into the easy bustle at Markyle’s Coffee and Food, sip and savour, and let this Hood Street favourite turn every visit into a little celebration!
