Stables on Alpha combines a relaxed and friendly atmosphere with a touch of exclusivity, ideal for both casual and special occasions. This Cambridge-based restaurant and bar flaunts an open-plan layout which includes a cosy dining area, a lively bar with big screens for sports, and an enchanting al fresco section adorned with fairy lights.

The menu has something for everyone, using the best locally sourced produce to bring each dish to life. Start with the hand-rolled flatbread, which comes with a side of creamy basil mascarpone. For those who fancy something a bit lighter, there are also marinated olives. For shareable small plates, the fried chicken comes with Sriracha aioli and pickles, promising some finger-lickin fun, while the crispy squid is served with a chilli caramel, lemon mayo, and peanuts.

Main courses feature the Hereford prime scotch fillet, a tempting offering served on confit mushrooms, agria mash, béarnaise butter, and sherry jus – a true staple. Alternatively, the fish and chips stand as an unbeatable order, featuring crisp beer-battered fish, fries, and tartare sauce. Pizza lovers find appealing combinations like the Miss Piggy, topped with roast fennel, bacon, and pulled pork. For a lighter choice, the nourish bowl allows for a custom salad creation with tomato, roast vegetables, chickpeas, and vegan aioli.

Feeling thirsty? The extensive bar caters to all needs. Popular with locals, its cocktails receive rave reviews, with the passionfruit mojito and the espresso martini being highly recommended.

Start, share, or have it all—the food is so exceptionally high-quality, and there's no need to whine about the setting. At Stables on Alpha, you know you’re in for a good ‘un.
