For a family of four, our lunch was a great chance at trying some interesting and different dishes, that we normally would not have the chance to try. And everything was so yummy. The staff are very helpful too.

Our dining experience at No 5 Church Lane was exceptional. The food was amazing and possibly the best restaurant food we have eaten.
The chef himself came out and described some of the dishes to us and all of the service was excellent. We could not fault this dining experience in any way and will definitely be dining at No 5 again.

No. 5 Church Lane was one of those dining experiences that wowed on so many levels.

As always (and most importantly), the food was delicious. They used clever techniques to produce exciting and interesting flavours, and it was a greatly appreciated touch having the chef come out to check on our meals.

Highly recommend!

I got this first table for two reasons: one, I heard the plant-based options were amazing and two, it was a celebration of my partner's birthday. The food was definitely wonderful. We really enjoyed the southern-fried banana flowers and the rhubarb pie for dessert. Thank you for preparing such a great meal and giving us such a beautiful way to celebrate my partner's birthday. It's not always easy to find a nice place to go out and still have lots of vegetarian options.

Our second meal at The Spire and unbelievably it was even better than the first time. We were a table of three and did the trust the chef meal. Course after beautifully presented course came out. Flavoursome and interesting. I particularly loved the asparagus and strawberry salad and the beef main. The Pavlova was a revelation - I’m not usually a fan but I reckon this has turned me! The Italian Barbera/Lagrein from Terra Sancta was a fabulous recommendation from Angelo and paired beautifully with our food. Many thanks to the whole team

We had the chefs choice with dessert. I would highly reccomend this option each dish consisted of quality homemade food cooked to profection. Combinations of ingredients where unique but hightly complementary to each dish and not only tasted divine but looked amazing as well. The service was excellent, each dish was explained as it was brought out, wish we had added the wine match. If you enjoy exceptional food, and service this is the place to go, not qick meal but an evening of tantalizing taste. We will definitely go back. This has definitely been the highlight of our eating in out queenstown. 11 out of 10

Absolutely sublime. Trust the chef, trust the bartender, they have some serious skills.

We went for the Trust the Chef option because we couldn't decide between all the great-sounding dishes, and we weren't disappointed! They were all delicious and innovative (the Southern fried banana bloom, for instance) and we'll certainly be back to try the other dishes. The cocktails were good too!

Amazing! We chose to put our taste buds in the hands of the chef and we weren’t disappointed. Delicious food and great service.
Ask to try the fried chicken and you may get a pleasant Surprise.

ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT! From the vibe of the restaurant to the quality of the food, would definitely go again if I am coming back to Queenstown! I ordered Trust the Chef Vegan option, love the soup, the deep fried banana (my friend said it almost tastes like chicken) and Brussels sprouts were amazingly done! Waiters are so friendly and helpful too! :D

A few drinks at the bar got us off to a great start. A lovely warm ambience, knowledgeable and friendly bar staff. Ross in particular deserves special mention - managing to juggle bar and table service. His wine matching with our meal was spot on. However the star of the show is Trent and his food. His knowledge and passion shine through. Dish after beautifully presented dish came out. I think we had 8 courses all up. All were tasty, with innovative twists. The stand outs were the salmon, beetroot felafel, banana flower, fish (wow!) and the rice creme caramel. One of the biggest highlights was having the chef deliver each dish and talk us through it. An incredibly generous thing to do. Can’t wait to return. Thank you to the whole team for making it such a special night...and to Brendan for making us laugh so much!

We spend an amazing time at N 5 Church Lane. The new menu offers beautiful and flavoursome dishes. Tapas which can be shared between the table. We have enjoy the opportunity to taste 3 New Zealand wine for 30$. I would recommend the experience between friends without a doubt. Great service!

Absolutely 5 stars! Such a fantastic experience. The food was amazing and the service impeccable. We opted for the sharing menu plus dessert which we couldn't fault. The Chef came out to serve us our main courses and explained a bit about the produce and cooking methods which was a really nice touch. We will be back!

The service was excellent, with very well considered recommendations made with wine and food. We went for the Sharing Menu plus dessert. This was a fantastic option and we would recommend it to anyone- delicious and creative food by the chef and more than we had anticipated. Recommend this restaurant highly to all future diners

No 5 Church Lane offers a ambient vibe and unique dining experience. Our waiter was extremely helpful and very attentive. The tapas style share plates are mouthwatering in both taste and presentation. We enjoyed every morsel. A fabulous evening and we would highly recommend.

The ambiance, the service, the food, the drinks worked very well. We couldn’t have asked for more. Our French waiter was attentive and efficient. We enjoyed the evening in this classy restaurant. Two of us had the chef’s preference and were very happy with our selection. Other two had the fish as main course and the other had pork. Everyone was really happy. Totally recommend the restaurant.

We ordered the sharing menu and put a special request for salmon. The meal was decided by the chief, including a soup, an entree and more than three courses, which were all as fresh and tasty as we expected. In particular, the salmon was so delicious that I would like to try it again next time. And the service has been fantastic, I have to say. Thanks for your detailed explanation and suggestions

What can I say - a perfect dining experience. Really friendly, knowledgeable waiting staff and the food was wonderful. Beautifully presented plates of food and some really unique dishes on the menu to choose from which were all totally delicious Wouldn't hesitate to dine here again when in Queenstown.

Definitely one of the better restaurants Ive dined at in Queenstown. We got the Mezze No 5 and the Rigotini and the Risotto. All of it was delicious and the Mezze was well worth the price you paid, we got a very refreshing appetiser, a delicious entree and a very filling main as well as a salad. Its also exciting because it's kind of Chef's choice so you get a real culinary experience.

The staff were really friendly and the atmosphere was so relaxing, I would definitely dine again even without First Table if it was for a special occasion. :)

No 5 has a beautiful ambience and great service. The staff go out of their way to ensure that your dining experience is enjoyable. There are plenty of vegetarian options, and some can be made vegan if required. A great space, great place and awesome tastes. Highly recommend.

This was the first time we had dined at No5 Church Lane and what an experience this was.

The venue itself is located down a small alleyway in the centre of the hustle and bustle of downtown Queenstown. Once inside the venue however, you are greeted with a calming, inviting and relaxing atmosphere, perfect to enjoy a Sunday lunch with friends and family.

The menu serves as a Mediterranean tapas experience and we were advised by our waiter that for a group of three, we would be looking at around 5-7 small dishes depending on our appetites. The option for larger courses was also available, which was a great touch. In the end we opted for 5 dishes, 1 of which was the large Char-grilled Cardrona Lamb Ribs. I cannot recommend these enough, the portion size was fantastic value for money and were cooked to perfection. In terms of taste the Lamb Ribs were closely followed by the Wild Hare & Caramelised Onion Croquettes. The small serving included three large croquettes, each containing a surprising amount of meat, which was to the delight of my partner.

Overall, we had a great experience dining at No5 Church Lane. The staff were knowledgeable, attentive and friendly and I can certainly vouch that they make a great coffee on site.

Thank you for a lovely afternoon, we are already excited for our next visit.

Mediterranean flavours in a funky setting with great cocktails: everything was amazing. My husband and I shared 4 small plates and had dessert. We loved the array of smokey, spicy, meaty and fresh flavours, and can't fault either the food or the service. Just smashing.

Absolutely superb - from the ambiance to the attentive service, this place is fantastic. And the food was delicious! Simple but tasty touches like serving garlic butter with grilled bread made this our most memorable meal in Queenstown.

We tried the mezze set menu. It was fantastic! The waiter was right - we would try things we would probably not choose but we would enjoy them. From the opening soup to the triumphant closing dessert, everything was great. The reputation of No.5 as part of the prestigious Spire hotel precedes it but absolutely did not disappoint. A top First Table choice!

It was amazing!! Beautiful food, perfect for sharing around, we ordered main size dish each and a polenta side dish and shared everything which was perfect. Wine list and the cocktail was very good too, we were in a bit early and had some cocktail before food which was really good.

What a great night!
Food was fabulous.
We had the Mezze platter which is a great way to sample the menu as there are 7 dishes served.
Oustanding flavours and textures.
The service was equally tremendous.
Will definitely return First Table or not.
Don't miss out!

This was such a great time! The vibe in here was just fab! Our server was such a great guy - the kind of staff member you can tell is exactly the right fit for the hospitality industry because you could tell he loved his job, wanted to be there and was actually having a good time at work.

The restaurant was really accommodating of our 6 month old and 3 year old - they both were made to feel really welcome.

To top it all off and our main reason for going was that the food is AMAZING! we felt really pampered. You could tell great care was taken in creating each dish and the flavors were incredible!

We will definitely be back.

Great job guys!

Amazing dining experience!
We chose the Mezze ( 7 little dishes of the chefs choice ) which was lovely! Was fun to not know what dish was coming next, but all of the dishes were very tasteful and we didn’t leave anything on our plates!
Thought it was really good we were still able to access this special on the first table offer, but this meant we were able to get dessert too which was so yummy!
Would recommend to anyone as a place to have a cocktail or to enjoy an evening meal, and would definitely recommend people to have the Mezze as most of the dishes I liked the look of in the menu were actually in the Mezze too! Best of both worlds!
Thanks No 5 Church Lane for your friendly service and great grub :)

My husband and I had a great experience there. The food was great and the waiter was chirpy and friendly (thanks for the little rescue mission if you remember it). The best thing about it is the atmosphere; I love that they don't have the music up too loud, making it quiet and classy - a perfect place to have a conversation over dinner without having to semi-shout over the music/crowd.

- dined at N°5 Church Lane on

Srum-diddly-umptious!

We went for the sharing mezze 'trust the chef' and you would be right to trust them! They were great and accommodated for one of us being a meat-dodger, we still left feeling full to the brim and you get to taste a bit of everything!

Takes pressure off the decision maker - and I highly recommend going for the dessert add-on because it was next level!

No5 are very good at what they do, which is particularly true of the Mezze where you let the chef choose which dishes you would like for $50 per person.
We started with an excellent Gazpacho each and then shared the best Bruschetta I’ve had in years, tasty Cardrona lamb ribs, outstanding hand-cut chips and manuka smoked Taramasalata AND Broccolini AND Bocconcini - The food was gorgeous and copious - we were stuffed! In addition the service given by the very smooth Luke and his colleagues was faultless. We booked on FirstTable.nz so it was also wonderful value. Amazing!
