dinner

In Portuguese, fogo means fire, which is at the heart of the cooking philosophy of flame-grilling meats to perfection. Churrasco or asado, which mean bbq in Portuguese and Spanish, are central to the menu and showcase the rich and diverse culinary traditions of South America.

Since opening in 2019, FOGO’s charcoals have been barbecuing juicy, perfectly seasoned cuts for the meat-lovers of New Zealand. For those seeking a Brazilian feast, passadores present and carve a variety of meats at the table, accompanied by traditional sides like garlicky black beans, Brazilian rice, tomato salsa, and chimichurri. The experience is often topped off with their signature bbq cinnamon pineapple.

Asado is more than just a method of cooking - it's a cherished Argentinian tradition. This technique involves slowly flame-grilling premium cuts like ribeye, fillet, and New Zealand lamb rump over open fire and charcoal, creating a unique and flavourful experience. However, it’s not just about the food - it’s also a social event, where friends and family gather to feast.

Although there’s no doubt FOGO is a meat-lover’s paradise, the vegetarians of the group are also looked after with the veggie mini chur platter, featuring seasonal bbq vegetables, polenta, and fried banana. It's a true South American experience!
