You might already know this buzzy spot as the groovy food truck it once was. Due to unprecedented success selling Asian eats from behind the steering wheel, So Bao have expanded with an equally groovy restaurant to match.

If you're a true Dunediner you will have encountered So Bao's Manga-inspired truck. Covered with colourful characters that form the cornerstones of Asian culture, it's hard to miss the 'toot toot' that promises a delicious and informal feed. And they've taken this cruisy vibe and transferred it to a more permanent residence. Urban, grungy and cool, the new restaurant immerses you in the modern-day Asian metropolis with epic wall graffiti, subway-inspired floors and exposed brickwork. It's quite literally too cool for school.

And all thanks to the young brains behind it! The energetic team are serving up a supreme range of chilled bites, from fluffy bao buns stuffed with Taiwanese pork belly and Peking duck to crispy tacos with kumara and feta and a range of grilled skewers. Hand-held eats just got really good!
