Roughly translated, Chai-Yo means pleasure, success and happiness. How appropriate, then, that this eatery serves soulful Chinese and Thai food!

Not one to shy away from its roots, Chai-Yo Thai Restaurant is a happy jumble of all things South East Asia. Colourful figurines, grand statues and framed memorabilia make for an all-rounded experience in a wonderfully cosy setting. In fact, it's so personable and homey, you might think you've accidentally walked into someone's living room!

And the food is equally as comforting. To begin, warm up with a bowl of traditional Tomyum soup, Thai beef soup or simply gorge on the most moreish pork dumplings and Thai curry puffs. But with curries, wok specialties and noodle dishes yet to come, your appetite is worth preserving.

Green, red, panang and rama curries provide warming sustenance that can be customised to your taste. At the same time, the wok is pumping out goodies like sweet n' sour everything, seductive oyster sauce creations and a range of deluxe, angry and happy duck dishes; see how you feel on the night! And if you fancy employing the chopsticks, their range of noodle mountains could form half of the Southern Alps! The Pad Thai is your Everest!
