Priding themselves in serving up honest, Asian-fusion, The Dish is a very...dishy prospect!

Casual by day, enchanting by night, this is a restaurant that evolves as time goes on. Whether you decide to hit them up for lunch or dinner, you can be sure of a meal you won't forget.

Make lunch a luxurious affair with fresh oysters, crispy shallots and banh mi mini buns to start. Then get stuck in with some classic pad Thai, karaage chicken or spicy egg noodles with an array of seafood. Vegetarians have a whole section to themselves that's stuffed with greens, veggies and tofu.

The dinner menu has something for every whim and fancy. Fancy seafood? There are market fish, wok-fried scallops and many more fishy offerings. In the red meat corner, you have a beef cheek massaman curry, an aromatic lamb shank and some very sticky pork ribs.

Delicious food, full of vibrant colour and flavours. Selection and choice fairly extensive - delicious starters Super quick Friendly service. Very smart, trendy and super clean interior.
Family of four and all delighted with our food. Definitely worth the experience and we will be back when we can.

Wow, the food was amazing at The Dish! Four of us had dinner here & we ordered four dishes to share: twice cooked crispy pork belly, Kung pao chicken, beef cheek mussaman curry (melt in your mouth, just divine!) and grilled market fish with creamy coconut sauce. With pleasant decor (great lights!), warm and friendly service and fabulous food I really recommend The Dish. We will be dining here regularly for sure.

Well our second visit to The Dish came quicker than expected, our grandson was in town for a few days so we exposed him to our new best restaurant. We shared three starters lettuce wrapped vegetables (fantastic) Beef Rendang wontons (nice change) and Banh Mi mini buns with pork belly (Amazing).
For mains my wife had her usual excellent sirloin steak, I had grilled market fish in coconut sauce (beautifully different) and our grandson had beef cheek massaman curry which he thoroughly loved. Again the atmosphere was calming and the service was faultless.
We will certainly go back and if you do not try it you only have yourself to blame. This place is certainly one of the best in town.

The Dish was bloody amazing. Easily made my top 3 places to eat. Everything was fresh and the flavours made our eye roll cos it was so good. The service was great! Its easy to see why its highly rated and highly recommended. Not to mention the amount of options they had to offer. Were vegans and usually at places there is only 1 or 2 max but The Dish had so many options for us. We loved it and will most defianately be back.

Wow, what a wonderful first experience of The Dish. Excellent food, we tried a starter each, I had the Bao bun & eggplant which was lovely whilst my wife had the lettuce wrapped vegetables which she could not stop talking about, a real taste fusion. For mains she had the sirloin steak with tamarind sauce, cooked perfectly to her taste. I had the kung pao chicken, always wanted to try this, it was magnificent tasty & spicy. Sadly there was no room for one of their interesting desserts, oh well next time! The atmosphere is relaxed and comfortable and the service was faultless. We thoroughly recommend this new restaurant. Do try it for yourself, the growing list of excellent reviews is thoroughly deserved.

First time for me ,mum & my sister. Very flash inside , nice all round. We enjoyed our meals.
The service was great ! Very efficient & friendly ! We each either added something to our meal or changed it & my sister had to go nut free as she is allergic to nuts. Nothing was a problem. Nice & cool on the very hot day in the restaurant. We will be back

Food was excellent. My partner and I ordered wontons and mini Bahn Mi for entrée, pad thai chicken and massaman beef cheek curry for mains and for dessert we both got the brownie. The food was really good and the guy serving us was so polite and friendly.
Couldn't really rate the atmosphere as we went at 5.30pm on a Monday so we were the only people for the most part of our dinner. People started coming in at the end.
Definitely worth a try if you are into Asian fusion, probably wouldn't get the dessert next time as the entrée and main were far better but I would definitely go back!

I had lunch the other day and it was awesome. I tried to dine dinner yesterday. Their staff always welcoming with warm smile. The dish was excellent same as lunch.
I do really enjoy Salmon & Mango salad for my main. It was warm salad no fish smell because of the sauce with Mango. Another recommendation is Bahn Mi. Fresh cooked and also they do have sweet, salty & sour.. it was very nice Bahn mi in Christchurch. Absolutely perfect presentation too.
I want to try their lunch special meal too. Great Asian Fusion restaurant especially Thai or Vietnamese food.
Great!!! Strong recommendation

We had an exceptional dining experience at The Dish. The food was outstanding. We shared the entrees and they were all delicious. I particularly liked the wontons with massaman sauce, there was a fight for the last one (four on the plate and three of us dining.) All the mains were so good, no one wanted to share. We all had the coconut ice-cream and sticky rice for desert, they looked and tasted amazing. The service was helpful and unobtrusive. I cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough and look forward to returning very soon.

We love Asian Fusion food - there is another reataurant just down the road from The Dish that is actually our favourite in ChCh. Or rather, it was. Our lunch experience at The Dish absolutely blew it out of 1st place! From the moment you enter with it's clean, comfortable, modern decor and calming, inobtrusive music you know that you have made a wise decision to eat here. The food manages to fuse the flavours and concepts from all over Asia into one cohesive, comprehensive menu.
We tried just about all of the starters on the lunch menu, and can throughly recommend them all - in particular the Beef Rendang Wontons with Massaman sauce, the Pork & Prawn French Toast (we lierally fought over the last 2 pieces) and the Bahn Mi bun with Pork Belly stood out for their flavours and originality. The lunch mains were a good size and full of fresh, crisp and colourful vegeatbles with our favourite being the Karaage Chicken which had a delicious rich and sticky sauce.
After 7 starters and 3 mains we really didn't need dessert, but of course we had to try at least 2 of the 3 on offer - the Matcha Creme Brulee was a hit with my dining companions (they said the Matcha was present but not overpowering) whereas I went for the Coconut Icecream, quite possibly my best menu choice of the day - sticky rice and caramelised pineapple perfectly complement the coconut flavours making it like a giant deconstructed Bounty bar.
There are plenty of photos online, I recommend that you check them out, yes the food does look just like that!
Our server was friendly and attentive, the food came out in good time and was hot, and the bill after the First Table discount was small. We will definately return to try out the larger Dinner menu, and we can not wait to do so!
PS: Special mention to the roti which was crisp, flaky and melt in the mouth!

We really enjoyed our lunch at The Dish. The menu was very interesting and creative. We all love the french toast with prawns and pork and the oysters were really yummy. Fried noodles was very tasty as well. Unfortunately the plum sauce in the peking duck roti was a bit too sweet, small improvement to make? Desserts were beautifully presented and the matcha creme brulee was really good. Service was very fast and efficient. Will definitely come back for more.

Great service and restaurant was fitted out very nicely and clean. Catered for our family with a noisy one year old. Food was good but I think they are still working out their kitchen process as the food came out not as hot as it could be (temp wise). Other than that we'd like to be more adventurous in menu choices as the usual didn't showcase their expertise. We'd give them another go.
