Using the finest ingredients from local farmers, butchers and fishmongers, Market Place throws the spotlight on Canterbury's fertile lands and coastline. And whilst you might think that their restaurant resembles all the rustic charm of a city vegetable market, it is anything but. Smart, contemporary and polished, Market Place Restaurant has created a neutral, uncluttered space to relax and recuperate. It's at once spacious but intimate and boasts plenty of character.

Of course, the menus are seasonal and depend on what local suppliers have in stock. This season, the entrees are composed of a salty venison salami with pickled rhubarb and a spritely pomegranate dressing, a saffron seafood chowder packed with market fish, and a broccoli risotto with a generous sprinkle of feta and almond crisps. As you can see, they create gastronomic masterpieces with the most humble of ingredients.

Next, the mains are giving homemade comforts with a tender chicken alongside a nutritious lentil ragout, ribeye with fries and catch of the day with a garden salad and aioli.
