Kings of authentic Thai food since 2015, Krung Thep Thai Street Food is your go-to for a taste of the most intoxicating flavours in the world.

A bright yellow splash on the high street, it's hard to miss Krung Thep Thai Street Food when walking around Christchurch CBD. Inside, it's uncluttered, homey and very down to Earth. There are few frills here - only a few pieces of family memorabilia serve as décor, leaving the restaurant free from pretensions. Simply come as you are!

The menu is wonderfully straightforward and offers a few tastes from all corners of Thai cuisine. The appetisers include curry puffs, spring rolls and chicken satay before diners move on to bigger portions. Mains offer bold flavours in the form of roasted pork noodles with cashew nuts, red duck curry, and khao Soi Gai (northern chicken noodles)

Then you have the real comfort dishes with four types of fried rice, a range of stir-fried dishes, fried noodles and curries. Indulge in old favourites like pad Thai king prawn, and sweet and sour crispy fish. Good, honest food without the frills, Krung Thep Thai Street Food are generous and welcoming and gets the flavour bang-on every time.

It's not just the mains you need to think about, for dessert try the coconut milk with mixed fruit or the banana boat ice cream and if you are simply just too full for dessert.

A kids' menu is also available upon request.
