Experts in spice, rice and all things nice, Basmati's Indian Eatery is where you'll find authentic curries in central Christchurch!

And Basmati wants to let you in on a secret; the trick behind Indian cuisine is the blending of the right spices in the correct quantities. Easier said than done, mind you! And their dynamic dining room is the perfect setting for an unforgettable feed. With dramatic wall paintings heralding some of India's most famous legends in a modern, spacious setup, this is Indian food with a touch of drama!

Boasting more appetisers than the sum of most menus, it'd be a shame to miss out on their extensive selection of tasty nibbles! From tandoori murgh tikka to papadum chat, lamb seekh kebab and a shamelessly decadent whole snapper, the challenge is leaving enough room for the main event!

For mains, all the usual suspects are there. Saags, jalfrezis, naawabis, vindaloos and kormas come with your choice of lamb, chicken, seafood and vegetables. Even their goat curries are packed with flavour and the vegetarian options give our humble veggies a whole new lease of life; which can't be said for the Kadai ghost... And if you've been caught out by a cheeky chilli, douse the flame with an ice-cold Pan Head or Tuatara. With all of NZ's best crafties to hand, you'll be cool, calm and collected in no time!
