dinner

Olive Warkworth brings an inviting Indo-Nepali spirit to this Auckland township, its charming ambience framed by intricate artwork and soft lighting that nod to the cultures of India and Nepal. It's the sort of room that suits both intimate dinners and easygoing catch-ups, with a warm buzz that lingers long after the last bite.

In the kitchen, recipes move with confidence between traditions. From the tandoor, malai tikka arrives succulent from its cashew-rich marinade, while crisp chicken lollipops offer a playful, moreish start to the meal. Following these starters, fragrant biryanis are layered with rice, fresh vegetables or chicken, and a chorus of Indian herbs and spices.

There's comfort in the Indo-Chinese thread too: fried rice studded with diced vegetables or lamb, Schezwan rice with prawns, and chowmein tossed in garlic and sauce. For those who fancy a little fire, chilli chowmein turns up the heat through chilli-garlic and soya, while chilli paneer gravy brings paneer together with onion and capsicum in savoury harmony.

With its welcoming glow and dishes that travel from the subcontinent to beloved street-side staples, Olive Warkworth sets the scene for relaxed, flavour-forward dining. Gather your favourites, claim a cosy corner, and let the spice-led stories unfold!
