In the heart of Auckland's stunning viaduct is Coops Corner Pub which, for all the detectives out there, sits on the corner! A corner with some ace views we might add.

It's where all unforgettable days begin and nights end. The theory goes that there's a little bit of 'Coops' in all of us; that's to say there's a party animal ready to pounce. Guaranteed he'll pop out when you're in this no-frills establishment that hasn't a whiff of pretentiousness or la-di-da.

The food takes the same no-nonsense approach. Fill your boots with their legendary chicken or herb-crumbed eggplant parmigiana, 'pretty big pizzas' inspired by a boozy night out in Las Vegas or some deep-fried pizza sticks dipped in a kinda-fondu tequila cheese dip. The tequila-spiked caramel corn from the party-starters menu is not to be missed.

Love it or hate it (they hope to change your mind), Coops has twisted their beer-focused drinks menu on its head with the addition of a tequila menu complete with over 20 tequila's and tequila cocktails from around the world that might take your night on an unexpected turn. Then again, the best things in life are unexpected.

Great value for money on first table. Food is very nice, service was spot on and the new bar design is much more open and light. Will be back

Loved the food - I had the double cheese burger and it was very satisfying! The service was also very good, we were well looked after. The best part about this place is the beautiful location. You just can't go wrong with a view of the harbor!

Really great atmosphere and very friendly staff in a buzzing location :) The decor was loads of fun and kept us looking around. Overall the food was okay, with the exception of the grilled prawns which were amazing!! I love fried chicken but the tequila marinade really wasn't for me, and it was a little dry. They're so close to great food with a lot of the menu so I hope they start really nailing it the more they serve. We will go back to find out!

Awesome food, great service.
Music was very loud inside so couldn’t really talk but I guess that’s because it was a Friday
