A classy retreat from the mundane every day, Moretons have set up shop in St Heliers. With panoramic views of Rangitoto Island, daydreamers and intrepid travellers are very much welcome.

Without wishing to repeat ourselves, this eatery really has one of the most stunning views. A stone's throw away from the beach, you can admire your surroundings in style. Inside it has all the trappings of a modern bistro decorated with a beachy colour palette. Think creams, light browns and free-spirited wicker lamps that emit soft halos of light. Never short on atmosphere, Moretons is one to watch!

Their menu serves Kiwi grub at its finest. If you're dropping in at lunchtime, you can still peruse the brunch menu which features the full brekkie with all the trimmings, crushed avo on Vogel's toast and a smoked fish mish-mash. And if you're not sure what that is, it's wholesome, fresh and comes with roasties, bacon and hollandaise.

Other mains include a range of burgers to suit the beef, chicken and veggie lovers. You also have the number-one Kiwi staple... roast pork belly, of course... done the right way, with a mountain of mustard and herb mash, greens and apple sauce. If you're watching the calories, opt for a health bowl or warm salad. No judgement if you ruin your good intentions with a sticky date pudding; you're only human!
