And they present these otherworldly dishes in a remarkably down-to-Earth setting that reminds one of the comforts of a family home. It's small and intimate, the compact wooden bar serving as a friendly central point and the dining tables around offering privacy amongst the low humdrum of activity.
And whilst the restaurant might be comforting and familiar, the menu is bound to tickle those who crave a culinary adventure. New and exciting flavours can be experienced from the get-go with various takes on the traditional tabouleh, charcoal-broiled eggplant, and a traditional spinach salad forming a team of tasty appetisers.
The flavours only get bigger and better with the mains. Persia's famous kebabs form the crux of the menu with minced lamb and free-range chicken skewers, all of which are marinated for mouthwatering smokiness and depth of flavour. They're also giving NZ salmon the Persian treatment in a marinade of oil and fresh lemon juice, which makes for a tender, invigorating dish. And to end, a couple of scoops of saffron ice cream are perfect for those who are full but just need something sweet.
