Cuisine: Chinese, Contemporary, Sichuan
Price Point: Mains from $15 - $35

Far from your average Asian fusion restaurant, Fang Yum brings a wealth of innovative Sichuan flavours.

Enter into a fictional world in which the Fang Yum Punks have nicknamed themselves the ‘Underground Flavour Liberation Front’. Led by their renegade chef Fang, the punks bravely fight to bring the taste of real Sichuan food to the people.

In practical terms, this means an enthusiastic, quirky and committed team of staff and an experimental menu created with passion.

Treat yourself to Sichuan scampi mapo tofu or crispy sweet soy pork ribs followed by a sumptuous red bean fudgy chocolate brownie. Complement your meal with carefully chosen beers, your choice of wine, or push the boat out with a Magnum of Louis Roederer Brut champagne. Gluten free and vegan options available.

For an energetic and unique Sichuan culinary experience, look no further.

Great first experience at Fang! Extra special that our waitress realised we were celebrating a birthday and brought over a dessert plate! Very thoughtful. Will be back!

Experience started very well with a friendly and welcoming greeting, noticed the fantastic fit out and setting and appreciated the level of detail. Great cocktail menu and wanted to order everything on the menu as it all sounded good. When the food came it did not disappoint full of flavor. Overall when recommended and UT won't be long before we return.

Great food, great service, great confusion....
Sounds controversial...by the name of restaurant, little bit by the menu, we though it is Asian restaurant.
Yes, dumplings are Asian dish, but not with ingredients we had, and again, we liked it a lot.
Fish curry very nice, slow cooked beef shank excellent and very hot (I like hot), but again...nothing about Asian food.
We will go back for more (even its not a typical Asian restaurant)...and place is recommended.

Tucked behind Winona Forever is this amazing restaurant.
We were seated promptly on the upper level which was very comfy. First came out the lotus chips, crispy ,salty and bit of spice. The prawn ,scallop dumplings were lacking some flavor whereas the goat cheese dumplings with veges were good. The best was the bang bang chicken on lettuce, wow with the crunch of the nuts and the kick of spice left us wanting more. The soft shell crab looked amazing on the plate and tasted good too..The white sause went amazingly well with the crab. The lamb ribs had flavour just no spice or depth of flavour. If you don’t like spice ,then this is a dish to try. The black bean fried rice ,with edamame chilies, prawns and onions was just amazing! Papaya salad lacked a bit of the zing ,just needed a bit more lime to lift the flavours. I ventured into the cocktail menu, nothing too exciting. Tried the cocktail with bitter, melon cocktail ,I didn’t know what I was thinking!!Finally finished off with a scrumptious soft chocolate brownie with red bean , hokey pokey and vanilla ice cream. I was impressed with the amazing presentation. What an amazing experience.
