Orakei Bay Village is playing host to Brothers Beer, where you’ll find great food and, most importantly, incredible beer.

Overlooking the dazzling Orakei Basin, you will find a seat that is just right for you in their chilled dining area. There are picnic benches, sofas, beanbags, and a buzzing outdoor area for you to do your slurping and munching. The kids are more than welcome with an old school tractor in the play area.

Their food menu serves a range of meaty and veggie classics. Fix yourself a sandwich from their range of delicious fillings like beef brisket, pulled pork, fried chicken and smoked tofu. Alternatively, do without the bread and peruse their classic salads, naked meat, or a naked veg section.

With over 200 bottled beers on offer and a further 18 on tap, there are no prizes for guessing what tipple you’re ordering. Can’t choose? Their tasting paddle is a great excuse to try a good few of them!

Generous servings, great flavours, and laid-back setting reminiscent of a Piha bach. The craft beers really were were great too. We were surprised this place wasn't packed on a hot day, with the proximity it has to Tamaki Drive... although the "kids eat free on Sunday" may have had something to do with this, as the young families started coming in just after us. Ordered a couple of sandwiches (pulled pork, and fried chicken), pork ribs, slaw, loaded fries, and brisket between four of us - all super-tasty. Service was warm and welcoming without being in your face (perfect). Only recommendation would be to have a finger bowl on the table for rinsing-off from the ribs. Will definitely return.

Excited to be a new Regular! Have been wanting to visit Brothers Beer for awhile now and it definitely didn't disappoint. The menu has a great range - we tried a few different plates and it was difficult to choose a favorite, though that brisket.......! Great vibe, staff enjoy working there which makes for excellent customer service. And the added bonus of a kids play area meant the adults could have actual conversation. We'll be back!

Awesome service, awesome food, awesome vibe! We will be back for sure!

First time using the First table and couldn't have chosen a better place to start. We had a shared meal, so we could try different things, all delicious. I need to come back for the burgers.

Of course the Beer is excellent but we went for the food and were not disappointed. Lamb Ribs - very good, full of smokey goodness. Beef Brisket Sandwich - exceptionally good but would have liked more chipotle but thats a personal preference. I didn’t eat the sausage but it was pronounced very good along with an excellent Caesar Salad. The large Mac’n’Cheese was also a hit. We couldn’t finish the Naked Skins nor the Loaded skins ( we had the burnt ends) which were seriously yum but it was only because we had over ordered.
Atmosphere is great, decor is relaxed but fun and the staff are very friendly.
Would definitely recommend.

Great first table for four hungry people after work. We had the ribs, lamb and sausage, along with the Caesar salad and slaw, plus the yummy potato skins. Washed down with a good selection of beers and wines. Would recommend.

This place has a great vibe. The staff are really friendly. The menu is quite unique. Interesting vegetable dishes as well as catering for meat lovers. Best of all its dog friendly which is the coolest thing.

Walking into Brothers Beer on a cold and blustery night was like coming home. There’s lots of retro carpets and decor, and a a real warmth about it. A guy playing the guitar & singing topped off the atmosphere.

We ordered the winter superfood salad and a selection of meats, the baked beans and the green beans. Everything was so delicious. I know it’s all about the meat at Brothers, but those baked beans, I could eat the whole bowl. I’d definitely return.

The food was delicious with good options in the kids' menu too.A great range of craft beer and other drinks and friendly, efficient service.

Excellent! Great local and worth travelling to for the unique location in Orakei Bay Village! Had been before but they have expanded with their new signature menu of slow cooked southern BBQ meat and new, private booth seating. So improved! All the meats we tried were mouthwateringly excellent and the best salad - Juke Slaw was so good! Also do not miss the Mac n Cheese. Great venue, food and these guys really capture their market brilliantly! Thanks and will most definately be back to eat our way through the rest of the menu!!!! PS for those with kids - very kid friendly!

Nice place. Great service. Delicious food, I especially recommend the brisket.

Nice food, we had the meat plate which had samples of 5 of their meats, plus sides of your choice. The portions were generous and it could have easily fed another person (out maybe 2). Service was good talking into account the type of place it is (order at the bar etc).

Great experience. That was the first time I used first table and the bill total was a great surprise! Totally makes socialising affordable. I’ve referred First Table on to many friends now. The food & service were brilliant too, I’ll definitely be going back. Thanks!

We enjoyed but no service to the table as such and only one person looking after guests dining.

This is the second time I've been here but first time as diner.
As much as I love the environment and decor, I found the service and food a little underwhelming. We sat at our table for a while before realising we needed to order at the counter. The manager was standing behind the counter but didn't acknowledge us and only brought water over after we finally ordered.
The meals took ages even though we were the only diners and I admit to being surprised by the meat presentation. We got the lamb, which were average cuts, just in a bowl with nothing else, then the spare ribs were dished up straight onto the tray. It was so odd. They were also average and not the sort that have been slow cooked with meat falling off the bone, in fact, there wasn't much meat on them at all.
Despite all this, the venue and liquid selection makes it still worth going to...

Overall a great experience with great food. So much meat to choose from! Will have to return to try the remainder of the menu. The beer is also exceptional. The layed back pub vibe also very nice addition to overall experience.

The food unfortunately tasted very average - the flavour was lacking on everything...other than that, it was a really good atmosphere with a live singer and the staff were all very friendly :)

Sunday lunch at Brothers Beer - sharing style plates which were all delicious. A nice casual setting with friendly service. Our only bug was the chairs are all high stools which do get uncomfortable after a while!

Very eclectic restaurant with BBQ tables, long high benches, and booths, and several mats on the floor. We weren't sure what to do when first entering, as no one greets you. We sat down at one of the tables and the menus were in a holder on the table. Good range of food. You need to go to the counter to order food and drinks. We had pulled pork (very spicy), beef brisket (cold), green beans, naked skins (yum), seasonal salad (been sitting in dressing too long. The food was nice, but the brisket seemed like it had been slow cooked some time ago then slightly heated before service, so it was too cold. Also had cheese board which was really nice. Overall came out feeling full; good casual place for drinks and/or dinner.

Wasn’t a totally unpleasant experience, it’s a quirky environment, more like a pub warehouse. There’s lots of craft beer selections. You read the menu then got to the bar to order. We heard the kitchen bell go indicating food is ready but the waitress continued serving beer for quite sometime. Finally she served our food which of course was luke warm. The food was ok, some nice flavours. The waitress was pleasant however she was busy and seemed to be flying solo. Would visit again for beer only.

Great variety of food and all at such a reasonable price (even before first table special). Slightly soggy buns in the sandwiches but must tries are the fried chicken and naked skins.
