Overlooking Half Moon Bay Marina in East Auckland, Hello Sailor is a locally owned, independent bar and restaurant serving coastal flavours with a generous helping of waterfront charm. Settle in for a relaxed lunch overlooking the boats, cocktails on the deck or dinner as the marina lights come on. Live music and DJs keep things lively as the evening unfolds.

Seafood takes centre stage, from tuna tostadas with avocado and yuzu to ika mata with coconut cream, chilli and lime. For something more indulgent, try crab rigatoni with lemon mascarpone and lobster gravy, pan-seared snapper with citrus butter and pomelo salsa, or a comforting seafood chowder served in an artisan sourdough boule. Dining with company?

There’s plenty to tempt beyond the ocean, too. Think seared lamb loin with whipped feta and blood orange salad, chicken schnitzel with creamed potato and black garlic gravy, or aubergine parmigiana with basil, mozzarella and toasted pine kernels.

Save room for sticky toffee pudding with miso caramel, a crème brûlée tart with berries and elderflower, or one of the playful ice cream sundaes. Come for the food, stay for the view, and make yourself at home by the water.
