Hello Sailor brings chic, seaside swagger to Half Moon Bay Marina in East Auckland. By day, its sunlit terraces lean into a beachy ease with sunset-ready views and the promise of fresh seafood. As dusk falls, the tempo lifts: live music and DJs set the tone.

The menu charts a course through ocean-bright flavours. Think decadent lobster rolls glossed in clarified butter, and spcied calamari with papaya, chilii and wakame. There is a hearty chowder served in a sourdough boule, and line-caught red snapper paired with hazelnuts and octopus caponata, each plate balancing purity of produce with coastal indulgence.

Land lovers are well looked after too, from wagyu sirloin with chimichurri to dry-aged ribeye with a cheese curd crust, alongside plant-forward comforts like aubergine schnitzel and a garden greens risotto. Artisan breads with horopito butter and agria fries with black truffle, make easy companions. Round things off with tiramisu lifted by Tia Maria or a steamed carrot and whiskey pudding, then linger over signature and tropical cocktails, fine wines or a cold beer on tap.
