Just a stone’s throw from Parliament, Chapman Taylors Café and Inn is the go-to spot in Thorndon for timeless charm and a warm welcome. Established in 2023, this lovely café and inn pays tribute to the legacy of Chapman Taylor and the tradition of London builders, blending classic British architecture with Kiwi spirit. Nestled among historic brick homes, this iconic beautifully restored bluestone building spans three levels of character and comfort.

Whether you're basking in the sun on the upper balcony, cosying up beside the fire for a hearty meal, catching the game with mates in the bar, or enjoying a quiet dinner for two, there's a space here for every occasion. Wines, cocktails, tap beers, and lip-smacking mocktails offer the perfect pairing with the hearty British fare on offer every evening.

Chapman's is proud to serve what locals call the best in town, with their must-try being the signature bangers and mash. Or, enjoy a hearty plate of Bratwurst pork sausage, black pudding, creamy mashed potatoes, mushrooms, caramelised onions, peas, and rich gravy - a comfort food classic, done right.

Come for the pub, stay for the food, and experience the best of British hospitality right here in Thorndon.
