In New Zealand’s food-loving capital, standing out from the culinary crowd is no easy feat, yet Shed 5 in Lambton Harbour makes excellence in every aspect of dining look effortless.

Housed in a beautifully restored historic wharf store, with the sea gently lapping beneath its floorboards, this iconic waterfront restaurant sets the standard for premium seafood dining in Wellington. With an in-house fishmonger selecting the day’s catch fresh from the early morning markets, Shed 5 is renowned for serving some of the city’s freshest and finest seafood.

Diners can expect dishes that celebrate the ocean’s best, from a seafood risotto that changes with the tides to spanner crab paired with prawn and coriander mash, sautéed brassica, and yuzu hollandaise. Of course, no visit would be complete without the ever-popular Shed 5 fish and chips, a timeless favourite.

Showcasing the best of New Zealand seafood, local produce, and artisan ingredients, Shed 5 embodies Kiwi cuisine at its finest. Complemented by a superb selection of cocktails, fine wines, and craft beers on tap, it’s the perfect spot to relax by the water and savour the true taste of Wellington.
