Open from 12 pm until late, this lively venue features colourful artwork that stretches the entire length of the restaurant, filling the room with the vibrant warmth of Mexico. When the sun is shining, guests are welcome to take advantage of the outdoor dining area with breathtaking views of Lake Wānaka. This South Island mainstay, with a history stretching back to the mid-90s, has become a local favourite over the years for its fun atmosphere and flavour-packed menu.

Exuding fun with a quirky edge, Amigos’ extensive menu includes well-loved classics such as burritos, loaded nachos, and 18 different taco options. Those visiting with smaller amigos can enjoy their own dedicated menu, including brownie and churro options for dessert. And as for that late-night fiesta? Whether it’s to cheer a birthday, while away hump day, or hail the weekend, Amigos is guaranteed to provide Wānaka’s premier party.
