It's only the best steakhouse in Hamilton! Smith & McKenzie happens to take the crown with its New York style restaurant that combines historic butchery methods with all the excitement and innovation of the modern kitchen.

From New Zealand's North Island to the Big Apple, Smith & McKenzie presents an esteemed and glossy dining experience that nods to the industrial backdrop that is so unique to New York. An expansive dining room hosts a range of smart dining tables settled next to roaring fireplaces and sofas whilst a network of pipes winds its way across the roof, affording the eatery a distinctly grungy vibe that contrasts nicely with the ground floor glamour.

Now, what makes Smith & McKenzie's steak so special? Maybe it's because they dry age their steak on site and that they use a slow cooking technique that keeps the flavour's integrity. If the smoked T bone, Hereford Sirloin and Te Kanuka Valley ribeye are anything to go by, it's no wonder they've been showered with awards! Make it your own with a combination of sauce and sides that suitably satiates your tastebuds.

For something that isn't steak, they even have some fresh pasta dishes topped with a wonderful duck ragout, a sticky mushroom risotto and smoked pork ribs that are as deliciously messy as they sound. Big food with big flavours, Smith & McKenzie is well deserving of their illustrious titles and awards.
