Mavericks Gastro Pub touches down in Taupo with a playful nod to Top Gun, channelling the buzz of a cinematic venue into a vibrant, old-world aviation setting.

Anchored at The Landing, Taupo’s newest family entertainment complex, the venue is warm, welcoming and big on character, complete with a replica WWII US Navy spotter plane overhead. It's the sort of place where families, friends and celebratory groups can settle in and linger.

In the kitchen, classic comfort food meets broad, globe-trotting influences. Starters such as crispy calamari set an appetising tone, with pizza and pasta rounding out the crowd-pleasers.

For mains, crowd favourites include the tender lamb shank served with creamy buttered mash, seasonal greens and a rich herb jus, alongside sticky slow-cooked BBQ pork ribs. Those after something lighter can dive into a creamy coconut korma curry loaded with seasonal vegetables and chicken, while the Maverick Angus burger keeps traditional cravings well satisfied.

There's substance for every appetite, from timeless fish and chips to family-friendly choices, finishing with sweet finales like warm apple tart or a chocolate brownie.

Taxi over to The Landing, gather the crew and book your table - at Mavericks Gastro Pub, good times are cleared for take-off!
