Serving international eats with a Kiwi twist, Roquette is bringing a taste of the world to cosy little Taupo. This one is for those who enjoy the finer things in life!

A smart yet relaxed bistro awaits, offering family, friends and lovers ample space to stretch out, relax and revel in the friendly atmosphere that makes Roquette so special. They're keeping things streamlined and unfussy with dark wooden furnishing juxtaposed against cream walls and blooming potted greens. The result? A light and airy space that is perfect if you're cooling off from the summer sun or looking for somewhere cosey to get you through the colder months. And the food will certainly strike a note of nourishing deliciousness.

One of the (many) things that makes Roquette so special is the artful way in which the food is presented. Inspired by modern gastronomy and new trends in contemporary cooking, every plate is laden with edible flowers and intricate designs. As for the content itself? Allow the bacon and mozzarella arancini to do all the talking, as well as the beer battered scallops and smoked salmon tartare that simply melts on the tongue.

The mains follow suit with pan-fried king salmon served with a mint and pea puree and crispy potato rosti, Moroccan spiced cauliflower with a delightful pumpkin cake, and a Savanah scotch fillet with a creamy mushroom sauce. Classic plates are reimagined for a meal unlike any other, especially when paired with any of NZ's award winning wines.
