Tucked away in the stunning lakeside town of Taupo, Malabar Nepalese & Indian Restaurant offers a captivating experience that blends traditional Indian and Nepalese cuisines with modern culinary techniques.

The street-side venue benefits from floor-to-ceiling windows, ensuring breathtaking views of the Great Lake and mountains throughout your visit. Inside, the sophisticated and inviting interior boasts an open-plan kitchen perfect for showcasing the chef's established culinary skill set.

The menu is crafted by an award-winning chef who combines locally sourced New Zealand ingredients with rich, authentic spices to create innovative dishes.

The menu is brimming with traditional Indian offerings, collectively aimed at showcasing the best of India's rich culinary history.
There are plenty of crowd pleasers such as the chicken korma with creamy cashew-almond sauce and the beef Rogan jus, with yoghurt mild Kashmiri chilly, Indian spice, and browned onion. And for a modern twist try the seafood curry with fish, prawns and squid in red Thai curry or dabble in the mixed Nepalese momo stewed with vegetables and Sichuan sauce
