The Shelter Bar & Kitchen is ideally situated in Frankton, Queenstown, within the Remarkables Park shopping centre and only a short stroll from Queenstown Airport. It is a haven that promises a delightful experience from dawn till dusk. This charming spot is where locals and travellers alike come to enjoy a hearty breakfast, a leisurely lunch, or an intimate dinner.

The morning at The Shelter begins with the seductive aroma of freshly brewed coffee mingling with the sizzle of bacon on the grill. Breakfast enthusiasts can dive into a south egg benedict, where scrambled eggs and sautéed spinach nestle under a velvety hollandaise or tuck into the smoky salmon bagel, which boasts in-house smoked salmon adorned with capers, cream, and a zesty horseradish sauce.

As the day unfolds, The Shelter morphs into a cosy lunch and dinner retreat, where the menu sings with variety. The overloaded bagel is a masterpiece of smoked ham and hash browns, elevated by a rich, infused bacon jam. Vegetarians aren't left behind with the veg me option, a roasted halloumi and avocado delight, painted with pesto and embraced by fresh mesclun.

Begin your evening with an array of starters, perfect if you're in the mood to share. Crispy beer battered prawns with cocktail sauce, fried lemon pepper calamari, BBQ, or buffalo chicken wings are just a few options to kick off the evening.

For mains, look no further than New Zealand ribeye with a truffle mash, Southland blue cod and chips or a sizzling lamb rack with sautéed vegetables. Vegetarians can indulge in the fusilli pasta with seasonal vegetables and arrabbiata sauce or vegetarian pizza.

The Shelter Bar & Kitchen isn't just a place to eat; it’s a destination where every meal is a memory in the making, every bite a story to tell. So, whether you’re a dawn patrol bagel buff or an evening gourmet, The Shelter awaits to be your next favourite food story in Queenstown.
