dinner

Anchored at Queenstown Marina in Frankton, Italian Way’s a love letter to authentic Italian-style pizza.

Here, the craft’s the point - each pizza’s stretched to order by skilled chefs, a simple promise that every pizza lover gets the very best. The focus stays firmly on craft and comfort, the kind of place where conversation flows as readily as aromas from the oven. Sitting on the water’s edge of Lake Wakatipu with the Remarkables in sight, the views are as spectacular as the food.

Flavours lean classic and confident. A Margherita sings with a bright handmade tomato base, mozzarella and a gloss of extra virgin olive oil. Pepperoni turns up the tempo with spicy salami, all about balance rather than bluster. It’s Italian cooking in its elemental form, trusting great ingredients and deft hands.

For a leisurely graze, there are polenta chips and potato chips, crisp, sea-salted and made for dipping in aioli or ketchup. Those with a sweet tooth meet their match in the Nutella calzone, a warm fold of indulgence that begs to be shared.

Find them at their home by the marina, settle in for a slice, and let your evening take the Italian Way, by the slice and by the smile!
