Grand Thai and Indian Restaurant is Whangarei's hidden gem, offering a unique fusion of Indian and Thai cuisine. With warm, richly spiced aromas drifting from Northland’s only Thai and Indian kitchen, diners are instantly transported to distant lands, leaving behind the bustle of everyday life for the inviting atmosphere of this local treasure.

Inside, cosy booths create the perfect setting for a meal with friends or a peaceful midday retreat. The menu is packed with South Asian favourites, from soft, buttery naan paired with creamy curry and fragrant rice to sizzling tandoori chicken. The legendary biryani is a must-try for any guest.

Beyond these beloved classics, Grand Thai and Indian serves up signature dishes like lion milk—tender chicken cooked with banana, egg, curry powder, spring onion, and coconut milk—or the prawn and vegetable dish, featuring succulent king prawns with mixed seasonal veggies in a savoury oyster sauce. Each dish is crafted using authentic Thai and Indian recipes, bringing a rich, flavourful experience to every bite.

For those craving a taste of Asia in the heart of Whangarei, Grand Thai and Indian offers a dining experience that’s nothing short of unforgettable.
