Oceano Restaurant is a laid back gourmet-style restaurant with sustainability at its core. Located in sunny Nelson’s Rutherford Hotel, our passionate team at Oceano pride themselves on a culinary experience that comes from the heart.

Come and experience our premier hot buffet breakfast complete with a selection hot and cold items including juices, cheeses, pastries, breads, and cold meats.
Filter coffee and tea is included for your enjoyment with your booking.

OCEANO’s exciting new dinner menu is a premium Chef’s Table dining experience designed exclusively for Nelson's landmark Rutherford Hotel Nelson.
We believe that some of life’s most meaningful connections are made around the dining table. Inspired by the relationship between land, sea and fire, OCEANO celebrates the extraordinary artisanal produce of the Nelson Tasman region through seasonal tasting menus prepared before the guests’ eyes.

Most restaurants separate guests into individual tables. At OCEANO, we bring them together.

At the Chef’s Table, every guest enjoys a front-row seat to the kitchen. Chefs prepare every course within sight of the guests, sharing stories about the ingredients, the local producers and the inspiration behind each dish, encouraging conversation, shared discoveries and a unique sense of occasion that can't be recreated in any traditional restaurant setting.
Immersive and informal, guests experience a genuine connection with the food and the chefs. No walls, no hidden kitchens - just a unique, exceptional shared experience.

Please note that the First Table offer applies to the full hot buffet breakfast menu option only (for breakfast bookings) and the a la carte dinner menu (for dinner bookings). Full price for the buffet is $37.50. Kids under five years of age eat free.
