Nestled a stone's throw from the sun-kissed shores of Waikanae Beach, Hey Coastie Eatery invites you to embark on a culinary odyssey that seamlessly blends coastal flavours with cosmopolitan flair. Step into its warm embrace, where inviting décor sets the stage for an unforgettable dining experience.

Commence your gustatory journey with a tantalising loaded flatbread, adorned with succulent Kalamata olives, vibrant romesco sauce, creamy feta, pickled red onions, and a tantalising yuzu coconut yoghurt, creating a symphony of flavours that will dance upon your palate. Alternatively, succumb to the allure of creamy chilli whole tiger prawns, their zesty lime and fresh herbs tantalising your taste buds, accompanied by toasted bread for the perfect accompaniment.

For your main course, embark on a culinary adventure with the pan-fried market fish, its crisp skin contrasting perfectly with its tender flesh. Cajun-roasted green beans and a velvety creamy miso caper sauce elevate this dish to a culinary masterpiece. Or, if your heart yearns for something more robust, the 200g dry-aged eye fillet is a must-try. Grilled to perfection, it is served with a rich jus, a delicate shredded shallot salad, and a classic béarnaise sauce that will leave you savouring every bite. For those who prefer plant-based delights, the portobello mushroom steaks offer a hearty and flavourful option, complemented by creamy butterbean mash, tangy salsa verde, and a garnish of microgreens.

Conclude your culinary journey with the slow-roasted pork loin, its tender meat infused with the subtle fragrance of lemon. Served with crispy kumara chips and pickled vegetables, this dish is a celebration of New Zealand's seasonal flavours. Whether you're a local or a visitor, Hey Coastie Eatery promises an unforgettable dining experience that will leave you yearning for more.
