lunch

Perched above the vast landscape of Hawke’s Bay, Rosewood Cape Kidnappers is the ultimate private getaway. With outstanding views of the Pacific Ocean and a nearby golf course, guests are invited to indulge in a menu that reflects their stunning surroundings.

Head Chef Jean-Baptiste Pilou curates a seasonal menu reflecting local partnerships and fresh produce. Digging deeper into the landscape, Rosewood Cape Kidnappers boasts its own on-site garden, where they grow various fruits, vegetables, and herbs. With menus changing on a daily basis, everything can be showcased at its very best when crops have reached their peak of flavour.

A sample three-course lunch selection ranges from spiced Eastbrook Quail, artichoke, and dandelion to slow-roasted beef tenderloin served with parsnip, hazelnut, and black garlic. Finally, the chocolate cremeux with indulgent caramel, yoghurt creme, and caramelised nuts finishes the dining experience in true style. Opt for a three-course lunch or the five-course chef’s tasting menu and experience the very best of seasonal Hawke’s Bay.

With each meal, diners can take in the scenery through the stunning floor-to-ceiling windows and soak up the vistas of the lower North Island. While this really is a breath of fresh air, we recommend wearing something a little warmer to fully enjoy this slice of rural paradise.

Upon arrival at the main gate, please use the intercom to dial 1001 for the Lodge. Our team will open the gate and warmly welcome you. Kindly note that the journey from the main gate to the Lodge will take you approximately 15 minutes. Please be mindful of livestock, forestry operations, and logging trucks along the way. A temporary traffic light is in place due to forestry work and may cause a brief stop of up to 6 minutes.
