The team here have managed to recreate authentic dishes their mothers used to cook for them back in Thailand, but have also put their own, modern spin to everything - creating the perfect combination of flavours.

Their signature dish, meang kana, can only be found at Sai Eatery and is difficult to come by even in Thailand. The fresh burst of ginger, cashew nut, crushed coconut, lime and chilli paired with the sweetness of the in-house caramelised sauce all make for a mouthful of flavour. Another must-try is their special crispy tofu with five-spice soy caramelised sauce, garlic and chilli – a favourite amongst vegans and non-vegans alike. For the seafood lovers out there, choose from a variety of salmon, prawn and local Hawke’s Bay mussel options.

Balance all that flavour with something sweet, like the refreshing lychee and lime sorbet or crack into the unique Thai tea crème brûlée.
