Spice 'N' Light

Fresh, aromatic spices toasted in a hot fire seem to be the winning combination for Spice 'N' Light's gorgeous curries. They are, in fact, the talk of Woodend.

And seeing as their food is so delicious, they need little else to bring diners in, which is why they've stuck to a simple setup that is comfortable and familiar. It's the perfect setting to kick back and graze on some small plates whilst the curries are gently simmering away. Enjoy a tapas-style starter with a variety of flavours including tandoori mushrooms, chicken tikka, onion bhajis, tandoori fish and paneer tikka.

The mains are divided into sections for chicken, lamb, seafood and vegetarian curries. If it's chicken or lamb you have a craving for, there are saags, bhunas, tikka masalas, madras and kadais with either one of them. The seafood section takes on jalfrezees with prawns, curry with daily fish and a Goan specialty with white fish.

Finally, vegetarians have just as much choice. Using bases of creamy paneer, spicy potatoes and fresh vegetables, the absence of meat has no bearing on the spellbinding flavour!
