For a memorable dining experience in casual surroundings, look no further than The Platform Brew Bar.

Don't let the grand name fool you; The Platform is a cosy, family-friendly little number down by the Kaiapoi River. It offers seating options from booths to low-slung tables and, of course, an outdoor terrace overlooking the water. Settle into this spacious watering hole and take your time exploring the impressively extensive menu, spanning lunch and dinner.

Savour the symphony of flavours with an open steak sandwich, a culinary marvel that satisfies taste buds with its juicy, perfectly grilled steak atop a toasted ciabatta, crowned with onion relish, mushrooms and a zesty aioli. Pair this with golden-brown arancini balls, each bite a delightful burst of pumpkin and parmesan risotto.

For those craving briny depths, indulge in a velvety seafood chowder, all harmonising in a rich, creamy broth infused with aromatic herbs and spices. A quick scan of the drinks menu indicates that this venue takes its hops seriously. Peruse the wide selection of tap and bottled beers and see if you can neglect to notice the on-site brewery!

The Platform has virtually everything you need for a good night out and feels local. Be prepared to take a different angle on pub food classics and be spellbound by the smell of hops drifting in the air.
