Golden Turmeric captures the warmth and vibrancy of Indian cooking, bringing unique, authentic flavours to Kaiapoi.

In the heart of town, this elegant Indian restaurant pairs rich, decadent interiors with plush furnishings, creating a luxurious setting full of character that reflects India’s history and layered flavours. The staff are knowledgeable and keen to share the stories and traditions behind the cuisine.

Golden Turmeric’s menu showcases the best of Indian produce and flavours, blending traditional ingredients with local New Zealand bounty.

Begin with crisp onion and spinach bhaji, then move to creamy malai tikka before exploring a spread of mains that travel through the regions of India. There's the chicken masala topped with fresh coriander, while the Punjabi lamb arrives overflowing with tender chunks in a cashew gravy.

Vegetarians are well catered for, and the chef’s specials offer a fresh twist on classics, weaving the golden notes of turmeric through chicken and lamb dishes alike.

To finish, indulge in gulab jamun or a refreshing mango sorbet, a cool counterpoint to the evening’s tapestry of spice and aroma.

Golden Turmeric offers more than a meal; it’s a celebration of flavour, craft and culture, served with a touch of Kaiapoi warmth.
