We three were greeted in a friendly manner and our orders were taken at the right time. We didn’t have to wait for service, but neither did we feel rushed. Given that the restaurant’s name is Three Cows, I thought that at least one of us ought to try the beef! So, for my entree, I had the Beef Capaccio, which was melt-in-the-mouth delicious! My daughter had the prawn entree, which also tasted fabulous. For my main, I had the single lamb shank - a satisfying and tasty meal. My daughter had pork belly and her partner had the Tower of Pork ribs, both of which were yummy and filling. All three of us agreed we would dine here again. Thank you for the great food and the pleasant ambience!

It was very quiet and reaxing as it was a Tuesday and the food was wonderful. We just had a selection of the entre's and shared them as out meal but all of them were absolutely delicious. I'd highly recommend this place and will be back for sure

We had a fantastic evening at Three Cows. The restaurant was really cosy and inviting. Our male waiter was so friendly and had a wonderful personality which we loved. He was the only waiter in the packed restaurant and has to be the best in all of Christchurch! Meals and drinks all came out on time, served with a lovely smile. I've never seen a waiter more efficient and personable.
We loved the fried calamari, prawn skewers, and garlic bread for Starters, then for Mains the melt-in-your-mouth lamb shank, rib-eye and pile of ribs (all generous servings.) We almost didn't order desserts we were so full, however, we couldn't pass them up seeing everything else had been so tasty - so ordered the creme brulee, cheesecake and chocolate overload (well worth the wait (weight!) Three Cows for us is definitely a place to return to.

My husband and I would both go back to this restaurant in a heartbeat. The food was beautiful and the presentation was also outstanding. We first shared the prawn sceweers which I would say were the best we have ever eaten. Mains were eye fillet and a stuffed chicken breast, once again a AA+++. We finished off with a beautiful sorbet. I actually felt guilty paying 1/2 price for such a beautiful meal.

We found the dinning experience at 3 cows to be of the highest standard.
The décor & ambience was very inviting. The music was perfect for our tastes old school 70's & 80's.
The waiter was very engaging, friendly & attentative.
The food was simply delicious, all our meals came out in good time & cooked perfectly especially the lamb shanks which were outstanding!
We will definitely recommend 3 cows & look forward to going back soon.

We had chicken, garlic bread and pate for our entrees, these were great. Two of the fish specials and ribs for mains, very nice. Dessert was the best cheesecake I have tasted in a long time - peach, passionfruit and white chocolate, and a brownie which wasn't quite such a hit. Enjoyable meal, waiter very pleasant.

Great experience here! Service was excellent! Nice menu choices - I had Porterhouse with salad & fries. Followed by creme brûlée. My companions had the ribs which were delicious. My salad was lovely and fresh and beautifully dressed. I would definitely return. The only irk was my steak that I asked for medium was cooked through with no sign of pink anywhere. It was still tasty though. I would just get medium rare next time.

Great wee restaurant. We arrived early but not a problem. The host was attentive and the menu had heaps if choices. The food was good but we left really full. Maybe we are not big eaters, however all we had was a shared flat bread and a main of steak and fish but they were good sized portions. Well done

I wouldn’t say that the main dishes here is excellent but compared to the price it is fairly alright. The t bone steak presented with the mushroom sauce had good combination. However, all the rest is fairly not fancy enough if you expect that Taste and Vibe in the City-center. The guy who attended us was doing his best to accompany the guests at this place.

Deeeelicious!

The ribeye steak was especially magical. Y'know how in some places, the edge of the steak is cooked "just right" but the inside is all pink and hard to chew? Well, this was a melt-in-your-mouth experience all the way through.

My wife's chicken caesar salad was beautifully dressed, and the pate we shared was a delightful appetizer.

With the quirky menu, energetic staff and old country music, we had a very enjoyable evening!

Lovely young man greeted us and served us throughout. Prawn skewers for starters (got 6 prawns) was lovely. I had T-bone steak which with the mushrooms and sauce was divine and cooked perfectly. Don't think it went with the coleslaw, boiled potatoes and poached tomato and fried egg - would prefer veggies. Kids loved their meals but the pricing of the kids meal, plus drink, plus dessert would come to $22 which is way too much. Unfortunately the cheesecake hadn't set in time so couldn't have that so had the creme brulee which was disappointed with - the sugar tasted burnt (but didn't look it). Overall the meat on all our dishes was superb and we'd go again just to eat them. Would go again but would ask them to swap a few things on the plate to complement their gorgeous meats and sauces.
