dinner

In Burnside, Christchurch, Patterson’s Restaurant and Bar serves up familiar favourites with a considered touch. The mood is easy, the brief is simple: good food, well made, from breakfast through to dinner, with something for every craving across the day.

Mornings might begin with a continental banquet of poached fruits and deli cured meats, or a classic Eggs Benedict set on potato rosti with silken hollandaise. Sides such as wilted spinach and grilled haloumi cheese add a little flourish, while coffee and fresh juices keep things bright and breezy.

As lunchtime rolls in, the tone stays relaxed and satisfying. Think warm pita bread with dips to share and crisp fried chicken, followed by crowd-pleasing burgers from a premium beef burger to a Cajun chicken burger – or the timeless appeal of fish and chips. For a gentler pace, a creamy cauliflower risotto brings comfort without fuss. Come evening, the kitchen keeps the variety flowing for an unpretentious, satisfying dinner in a welcoming restaurant and bar setting.

Whether it is a quick bite or a leisurely meal, Patterson’s invites diners to settle in and savour the moment. Make a date with the classics, and let the good times do the talking.
