You couldn't get a more iconic Kiwi pitstop than Lake Tekapo, and yet, they've made California style burgers their delicious trademark.

If you haven't heard of 25 Degrees, you'd better sit up and listen. A winning restaurant based in Los Angeles, Bangkok and Singapore, this celebrated chain has now found a home in Lake Tekapo. So jump at the chance to indulge in their famous burgers beloved by Hollywood A-Listers. Informal and friendly, this is the perfect destination after a day in the hills, on the lake or cruising through stunning Otago.

Let's see what all the fuss is about, then. They have an impressive six signature burgers, all of which you won't find elsewhere. As well as reworking the classic beef burger with welcome additions like mozzarella, pesto aioli and guacamole, their Number One burger is a crowd favourite at their destinations around the globe. You can enjoy this unique creation with caramelised onions, bacon, rocket and thousand island sauce.

Of course, a burger isn't complete without some trusty companions. As well as normal fries, you have filthy fries topped with a life-changing bacon gravy, buffalo wings drenched in hot sauce and truffle fries with parmesan. And if you have any room left (trust us, you'll find some), go for gold with their signature cheesecake that is packed in the Oreos and raspberry sauce for an incredibly indulgent treat. And yes, it's totally worth the food coma.

To wash it all down, check out their creamy milkshakes in a range of flavours to suit even the choosiest of your crew. For something a little more quenching on a warm afternoon, only a cocktail will do. The pickle brine margarita has your name on it, or perhaps a watermelon mojito is more your style.
