dinner

Crazy Tandoor, an Indian restaurant, brings the glow of the tandoor to Waihi Beach in the Bay of Plenty, celebrating the punchy, hearty flavours of North Indian cookery.

The kitchen leans into traditional techniques and aromatic blends, focusing on warmth, balance and that unmistakable charcoal-kissed finish.

Dinner opens with the familiar and the fragrant: crisp vegetable samosas, their flaky shells giving way to cumin-laced potato and peas, or chicken tikka, marinated in special masala and fired until tender with a smoky edge.

For something more indulgent, house specialities turn the dial up. The signature Crazy Chicken Kebab Curry folds seasoned kebab pieces into a silky cashew paste, sautéed with onions for a curry that's velvety, nutty and gently sweet, built for lingering over.

Beloved classics are confidently rendered across the spectrum, from the mellow embrace of butter chicken and the tomato-onion depth of chicken tikka masala to the aromatic coconut gravy of chicken Madras and the fiery tang of chicken vindaloo.

It's generous, spice-forward cooking designed for sharing, with sauces that invite savouring and plates that reward a second helping.
