In the heart of Tauranga, Manhattan Bar + Eatery brings a confident, bar-first spirit to relaxed dining. The mood is easy-going and sociable, with plates designed to share and crowd-pleasing classics that lean into bold, satisfying flavours. It is the sort of place where lunch can stretch into late afternoon, and evenings are anchored by good company and generous servings.

The kitchen keeps things lively from the first bite: think buffalo wings with tangy heat and pan-fried garlic prawns that are made for pairing with a cold drink. Daytime brings the Manhattan BLT on Turkish bread, alongside a burger and fries layered with cheese, slaw, pickles and aioli on a brioche bun — simple ideas done with care.

For something heartier, the rib eye steak arrives with buttery mash, rosemary jus and seasonal vegetables, while the market fish changes with the catch, served with vegetables and garlic potato glossed in curry butter. Pizzas are unapologetically indulgent: The Manhattan piles on pork belly, bacon, pepperoni and chorizo, while The Empire State teams steak with blue cheese and caramelized onion.

Whether it is a quick lunch, a shared supper or a leisurely round of pizzas, Manhattan Bar + Eatery makes it easy to settle in. Book a table, bring an appetite, and let the good times take a bite out of your evening.
