Going strong for over a decade, Castle 91 has gained quite the following in New Zealand. With two locations in the North Island, this is the only Indian eatery you need to know about when you're in Tauranga.

Friendly and approachable whilst also having a soft spot for the glamorous things in life, Castle 91 Indian Eatery Brookfield strikes the perfect balance. Engulfing armchairs in royal blue and mustard yellow provide comfort as well as a festive dose of colour. What's more, the walls are painted a cheery red for an even more eye-catching interior decor design. Alive with colour and a bubbling atmosphere every day of the week, Castle 91 is certainly deserving of its royal name.

And like any royal banquet, there's no end to the delicious possibilities. For meat curries, take your pick of traditional offerings like vindaloo, bhuna, saagwala and madras with your choice of beef, lamb or chicken. Alternatively, try out something new with the butter beef; it's just like butter chicken but... different. As for seafood, celebrate the humble prawn with king prawn masala, prawn jalfrezi and prawn korma. And don't forget to check out their signature Castle fish curry; it's bound to have a few surprises!

They also have an equal number of vegetarian options. From Punjabi dal to the generously spiced Bombay aloo, creamy palak paneer and vegetable korma, they have the added benefit of being gluten-free. So, feel free to enjoy your channa masala with added peace of mind. Happy days indeed!
