Mr Illingsworth proudly carries the mantle of Te Atatu's first general store, originally opened in the late 1800s.

Boasting an unpretentious, relaxed atmosphere, the bar and restaurant continues to serve as a central community hub, just as it always has. From quiz nights to live sports and local DJs, ‘Illy's’ is all about Te Atatu locals having a place to congregate and enjoy great food, drink and good company.

Although the scene may have changed a little since the 1800s, good times are still very much the vibe here. The menu at Mr Illingsworth celebrates the best of pub food, with a simple selection of dishes presented in the highest possible quality. From beer-battered fish and chips to line-caught fish with leek and white wine sauce on the side, there's a little bit of something for everyone.

Leave the cooking to Mr Illingsworth, with a menu boasting succulent grilled chicken with creamed leaks, melt-in-the-mouth beef ’n bacon smash burgers that ooze with American cheddar, and their famous pulled beef nachos with guacamole and chilli cream.

So pop on down to your new local and sink a few cold ones with your mates – you won’t be alone at Mr Illingsworth.
