Nestled in an idyllic garden setting on Waiheke Island, The Heke has fast become a favourite with both locals and visitors.

Spread across four acres of rolling lawn, the venue exudes warmth and character, the glow of wood fires creating the perfect backdrop for family gatherings and relaxed dining. The spacious outdoor gazebo even welcomes four-legged friends, making it an easy spot to unwind with good company, furry or otherwise.

The food menu is designed for sharing and is fuelled by a passion for cooking with fire. Expect smoky, flavour-packed dishes that hit the spot, from succulent meats and freshly baked pizzas to crowd-pleasing staples such as the Heke smash burger and crispy southern-fried chicken.

When it comes to drinks, The Heke stands apart. Alongside brewing its own world-class beers, the team also runs an on-site distillery producing small-batch whisky and gin.

The Heke offers something for every occasion, whether it’s a family lunch, a few rounds with friends, or a leisurely dinner that lingers into the night.
