Kitted out with contemporary furnishings, group tables and a tiny (very merry) bar, there’s something for everyone. Even for those looking to slurp a nourishing bowl alone, the window barstools and a people-watching session is all you need.

And with thirteen to choose from, the lab caters for all. The classic tonkotsu ramen is topped with NZ’s finest pork, the spicy tantan ramen injects a bit of fire into proceedings whilst the soup-Less ramen is an interesting interpretation and still manages to concentrate all the incredible taste into the noodles themselves. Science indeed!

Their culinary expertise doesn’t just include ramen. Donburi makes a star appearance. This sticky, rice-tastic treat can be topped with anything from karaage chicken to spicy NZ pork mince and chicken katsu. Round things with a gulp of Japanese beer or a dainty sip of sake. It all depends on how thirsty you are!
