At the top of Auckland’s North Shore, Devonport Indian Hub is serving exquisitely crafted Indian and Indo-Chinese cuisine. Built on the mission to serve traditional dishes brimming with intense flavours and an aromatic sophistication, Chef Dhanpath and his team of talented chefs lovingly prepare each dish from scratch. The result is a tantalising combination of crowd-pleasers that date back generations including their spinach dotted lamb saagwala and the golden tomatoey depths of butter chicken.

Nestled in the heart of the coastal suburb, the restaurant seamlessly blends the flavours of Asia and India and is dressed up in an elegantly modern way which has seen local affinity win them over with a dedicated following. Romantic date nights are offset by peering through the windows at the bustling atmosphere while interesting artwork and the glow of candlelight sets the scene. Crispy chicken tikka spring rolls and pakoras redefine what ‘fusion’ means as they smuggle Indian spices into oriental favourites.

If you’re more of a purist, dive headfirst into their beautifully spiced lentil and chicken broths and garlic laced naans. A true masterpiece of flavour, it’s time to sample the real taste of India.
