dinner

The most celebrated Chinese hotpot in the whole of Auckland, Maya Hotpot has sumptuous eats and bubbling personality in spades that'll keep you coming back for more.

Tucked away on Dominion Road, Maya Hotpot is unassuming and can only be marked out by its cheerful red banner. One for keen-eyed diners, the front door leads to a bustling eatery alive with clacking chopsticks, bursts of laughter and a collection of fun-loving neon displays that transport you to the heart of Shanghai. A multi-sensory experience with a surprise around every corner, Maya Hotpot certainly keeps you on your toes!

The menu is designed for your enjoyment and nothing gets tongues wagging quite like Maya's collection of soup bases. Massive on flavour, it's hard to believe that the Tom Yum pork pot, Sichuan spiced chicken or char-grilled pork bone can taste so incredible. Bulk out your table with some other goodies from the snack menu, like crispy pork bites, veggie spring rolls or deep-fried buns. And don't be afraid to try something new altogether! With the likes of bean curd noodles and Sichuan pickles on the menu too, now's the time to broaden your culinary horizons!

As for other mains, tuck into mountains of flavoursome deep-fried dumplings, fried rice with heaps of fresh vegetables and region specific offerings. Whilst you're at it, add on some cheeky desserts (caramel tofu pudding, anyone?) that are truly daring and end with a brown sugar ice jelly. Where everyone's bound to leave with new experiences, Maya Hotpot is a culinary adventure and then some!
